Admission
Morning Events - Parade, Jazz & Awards
Free. There is no charge for any of the morning events.
Evening Events - Field Show & Awards
General Admission: $15
Student / Military / Senior : $10 with ID
Children 5 and under: Free
This is a non-profit fund-raising event to support the music programs of our local schools.
Thank you for attending the event and supporting the bands - enjoy the performances!
Spectator Parking
Morning Events - Parade, Jazz & Awards
Parade route (Century Blvd between Mills Ave and Ham Ln) will be closed to vehicles. All parking lots at Tokay High School will be closed and controlled for bus parking. Spectators may park along Century Blvd west of Mills Ave, or along Ham Ln, or on neighboring streets as available.
Evening Events - Field Show & Awards
Parade route will be open to vehicles. All parking lots at Tokay High School remain closed and controlled for bus parking. Spectators may park along Century Blvd west of Ham Ln, or along Ham Ln, or on neighboring streets as available.
Spectator Etiquette
Morning Events - Parade, Jazz & Awards
Please do not enter the street within the competition zone.
Please only cross the street between bands outside the competition zone.
Evening Events - Field Show & Awards
Please do not enter the field... at all, ever. Only band and auxiliary members, directors and assistants, and judges are allowed on the field.
Competition Categories
Parade
The marching Parade kick off the event.
Percussion
Percussion is another marching event.
Jazz
Jazz occurs simultaneously during the Parade.
Field Show
The Field Show is a full evening of music!
History
Lodi-Tokay Band Review Badge
The Grape Bowl Classic (GBC) that we know today began as the Lodi-Tokay Band Review (LTBR).
Bob and Helen Gross
In 1977, Bob Gross, then Band Director at Lodi High, organized the first event as a means to promote and support local music programs.
Host: Lodi High School
For 2023, Lodi's Pride of Lodi Marching Band and Color Guard will lead off the field show.
Host: Tokay High School
For 2023, Tokay's Royal Regiment Marching Band and Color Guard will lead off the parade.
The original parade route ran along Elm St at Lodi High School.
The current route is now along Stockton St at the Grape Bowl.
The 2023 route is along Century Blvd between Mills Ave and Ham Ln at Tokay High School.
Grape Bowl Classic celebrated its 40th year in 2017.
